The Royal Government of Bhutan has applied for a grant from the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Rural Electrification (RE4) component
of Green Power Development Project; it is intended that part of this grant be
applied to eligible payments under the component named above.
The Bhutan Power Corporation Ltd. (BPC) invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders for the following under Bid Identification No. ADB/BPC/RE4/2008:

For packages 2 through 10 actual quantities will be referred to in the bidding
documents.
Bidders are free to bid for one lot or a combination of lots in Packages 1 & 8.
International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s
SingleStage: OneEnvelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries.
Bidders may obtain further information from the General Manager, Procurement
Services Department, and inspect the bidding documents at the BPC (address
below) during working days starting on 11 October 2008.
Eligible bidders may purchase the bidding documents, in English, on submission
of a written application for individual packages to the same address and upon
payment of a nonrefundable fee of Nu. 7,000 or US$ 150 by demand draft or
banker’s check payable to General Manager, Finance and Accounts Department, BPC.
The bidding documents will be sent by domestic post or by courier outside Bhutan
for an additional cost. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery
of the bidding documents.
Bids must be delivered to the address below, together with a security in the
amounts specified above against each package, at or before 1200 hours (BST) on
25 November 2008. Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours (BST) on 25 November 2008,
in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who chose to attend, at the
address below.
The BPC will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in
connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.
Domestic Preference Scheme will not be applied.
